The School Admission Registers Project

This project started in January 2023, following an invitation from Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith to photograph and digitise their School Admissions Register. Latymer Upper School was founded in 1624. The current project will consist of photographing and then transcribing some 6500 school admission records dating from 1895 to 1940.

A prototype showing how we can display their records has been developed and may be seen at this page. Any member ready to join in the transcribing should contact the Projects Co-ordinator.

Next Meeting

Our next meeting is on Thursday 21st May 2026. The focus of the meeting will be a talk by Richard Holt titled Informal and Formal Adoption: Bridging the 1926 Act (1890s-1940). Richard will be speaking from Zoom. Members may be on Zoom or at St. John's.
