Research information on West Middlesex parishes

This page provides a summary of all the main sources of information on our ancient parishes. If you are not sure whether the place of interest to you is in West Middlesex, please consult the Gazetteer for the Greater London area.

For parish records:
     C = Christening
     CI = Christening with PR images available
     M = Marriages
     MI = Marriages with PR images available
     B = Burials
     BI = Burials with PR images available

Two very important links are included in the detail for each parish. The Link to FamilySearch Wiki is recommended as their pages provide direct links to the actual datasets which contain the parish records for Ancestry and Find My Past, the particular batch in the case of FamilySearch, and also direct links to sites such as The Genealogist, Family Relatives, the Internet Archive, Ancestors at Rest, and Joiner.

The link to GENUKI is also recommended as they provide excellent information on all churches in the area, whether C of E chapels of ease, Roman Catholic or nonconformist.

Both FamilySearch Wiki and GENUKI also provide a link to the English Jurisdictions of 1851 set of maps. These maps are very detailed and enable you to see exactly where the parish boundaries are, and much more besides.

Society news

Next Meeting

Please note that we have now cancelled the AGM on 18th March, and also the April and May Members meetings. The June meeting is still on, and we now plan to hold our short AGM at this meeting, after the talk by Meryl Catty titled Our Newspaper Heritage.

Next Fair

Our attendance at fairs is severely impacted by the coronavirus situation. The next fair still on schedule is not until September.

Next Advice Session

Our next Advice Session will be held at Feltham Library on Saturday 16th May from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, provided the library is open. These sessions need to be booked. See the Advice page.
