General indexes to records for West Middlesex
These indexes are intended as aids to research in the West Middlesex area. For members of
the Society, the fees are as stated (please quote your membership number); for non-members,
they are twice what is indicated below, except where specified. Please note that, in all cases,
enquirers must include a SAE. Unless stated otherwise, cheques should be made
payable to the holder of the index, not the WMFHS.
West Middlesex Marriage Index
Contains only marriages which took place before civil registration began (July 1837).
There are about 86,000 entries, mainly from West Middlesex. The Index is best accessed on-line at
FamilyHistoryOnline.
Alternatively, postal searches may be requested (no telephone/email requests). The charges are:
- List indicating coverage - SAE (min 220 x 110 mm) plus a second class stamp.
- A search for one specific marriage - SAE plus £1 (non-members £2).
- Up to 20 entries of one surname - £2 (non-members £4).
Cheques should be made payable to WMFHS, in Sterling only. Name variants required need to be
listed by the enquirer. Please give name(s), approximate dates, and parish or area if known.

War Memorials
There is now a substantial body of name-list material for most war memorials recorded in West Middlesex. It
consists of public, churches', schools' and firms' memorials etc for WWI and WWII and earlier wars where they
exist, although it is not yet complete. When making an enquiry on an individual, please include any information you
