A History of the Society page provides a brief summary of the main activities of society members since we started out in 1978.

The Society is affiliated to the Federation of Family History Societies (FFHS). See the referenced page for what this means to the Society.

The logo of the Society was inspired by the blazon of the arms granted to the Middlesex County Council in 1910: Gules, three seaxes fessewise points to the sinister proper, pomels and hilts and in the centre chief point a Saxon crown or. The seaxes and red background have a much longer history, having been long associated with the Kingdom of the Middle and East Saxons.

Next Meeting

Our next meeting is on Thursday 20th November 2025. The focus of the meeting will be a talk by Martin McDowell on 'Why do a Y-DNA test? ' Martin will be speaking on Zoom. Members may be remote or at St. John's.

Our next family history fair is the The Oxford Family History Fair to be held in Oxford on Saturday 25th October.
