The University of Newcastle in Australia requests volunteers for a survey (18 November 2020)

The research team at the University are conducting research into family history and DNA testing, and are looking for volunteers to take part in an online survey, expected to take 20 minutes. If you are willing to do this please follow this link.

1/2 price tickets for the Family History Show Online in February 2021 (28 October 2020)

Family History Show Online will be running their first 2021 show on 20th February 2021. They have also announced that members of exhibiting societies, which includes us, are entitled to tickets at half price. The link to purchase these tickets is given on our (members only) Discounts page.

New London's Transport at War gallery opens on 17th October (13 October 2020)

New London's Transport at War gallery opens at the London Transport Museum on 17th October, telling the story of how men and women of London's transport played their part in two world wars. Timed tickets may be booked online at London Transport Museum's website.

RootsTech 2021 (17 September 2020)

RootsTech 2021 will take place from February 25th to 27th 2021, and is a free online virtual event. See their website for the details.

ASK AGRA: Family History Question Time podcast project (28 August 2020)

The Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives, the association representing professional genealogists in England and Wales, has announced as their latest development a series of podcasts to be streamed via the website - Ask AGRA – Family History Question Time. For further information see their August 2020 Press Release.

FHF Website Podcasts (28 August 2020)

The Federation has decided to produce a series of themed podcasts with a format similar to that used by Radio 4 Gardeners Question Time, ie Family History Question Time. See this link for further detail.

Next Meeting

Our next meeting is on 17th December and will be Zoom party time for Christmas. Bring your own crackers and refreshments. There will be a quiz.

Next Fair

We shall be running our virtual stall (with chat) at the Family History Show Online on Saturday 20th February 2021.
