17-Dec-2020 Members' meeting (Zoom) - Fun was had by all. We had reminisces, a quiz on Middlesex set by John Seaman. and one on carols set by Ann Greene. James Young won the quiz based on Middlesex, Pam and Brian Smith won the quiz based on carols.
28-Nov-2020 West London Local History Conference is held as a virtual event.
19-Nov-2020 Members' meeting (Zoom) - Talk by Francis Howcutt on 'Census records: Finding People and Working out the True Story!'.
14-Nov-2020 Yvonne Masson and Roland Bostock run our virtual stall at the Federation's Really Useful Family History Show 2020.
15-Oct-2020 The deferred AGM was held. Robert Parker was unable to give his talk on Ancestry. Kirsty Gray stepped in and gave a talk titled 'Burials and Burial Grounds'.

20-Aug-2020 Members' meeting (Zoom) - Talk by Kirsty Gray on 'A-Z of Victorian Occupations'.
16-Jul-2020 Members' meeting (Zoom) - Talk by Janet Few on 'Sons of the Soil: Tracing your Agricultural Labouring Ancestors'.
18-June-2020 Members' meeting - Talk was scheduled for Meryl Catty to speak on 'Our Newspaper Heritage', but meeting not held due to coronavirus restrictions.
22-May-2020 Members' meeting - Talk was scheduled for Amelia Bennett to speak on 'What Did They Do? - Records relating to trades, professions and occupations', but meeting not held due to coronavirus restrictions.
17/18-Apr-2020 Family Tree Live was cancelled due to coronavirus, but they did run a virtual event from the internet.
16-Apr-2020 Members' meeting - Talk was scheduled for John Clarke to speak on 'Researching the First World War dead at West Norwood Cemetery', but meeting not held due to coronavirus restrictions.
21-Mar-2020 The West London Local History Conference was cancelled due to coronavirus.
19-Mar-2020 Members' meeting - Talk was scheduled for Julian Pooley to speak on 'Who Do You Think They Were? Discovering the lives and experiences of our ancestors' and the AGM, but meeting not held due to coronavirus restrictions.
20-Feb-2020 Members' meeting - Talk by John Collis on 'I wish I had asked more questions - A local resident traces his family tree'.
16-Jan-2020 Members' meeting - Talk by Yvonne Hewett and Paul Leonard on 'A Brief History of York House, Twickenham'.

Next Members Meeting

Our next members meeting is on Thursday 20th August 2026. The focus of the meeting will be a talk by Nigel Crompton titled The Women Police Service during WW1 and the involvement of the Ministry of Munitions. Nigel will be speaking from St. John's Centre. Members may be remote or at St. John's.
