Cliff provides a detailed review of the resources available (in 1980) for tracing family history in London fir pre-1837 events.

Middlesex Non-Parochial Registers - V. E. Gale
Vic gives an account of how the non-conformist and Roman Catholic churches in England and Wales wre invited in 1837 to send in their existing registers to be authenticated. This then led to the R.G.4 set of records at the Public Record Office.

Mr. Faulkner investigates the rumour that someone on his mother's side came to grief through riding on roller skates. There are false trails a plenty. In the end it appears that a steam roller was involved rather than roller skates.

Our next meeting is on Thursday 18th April 2024. The focus of the meeting will be a talk by Ann Larkham titled Dating and Identifying Family History Photographs. Ann will be speaking on Zoom. Members may be remote or at St. John's.
